Accumulation system – a heating mat not under the tiles, but under the floor screed
Enjoy the warmth long after the heating is turned off
Accumulation (storage) heating with the use of heating mats forms a heating system with the main goal of maintaining the heat level for as long as possible after it’s turned off. This effect can be achieved by installing the heating mats not under tiles or other floor coverings, but directly under the floor screed. The heat from the film penetrates to the floor, which accumulates it, while slowly heating it and maintaining a pleasant temperature in the room for many hours. The use of the accumulation system in rooms where the heating mats are under the floor under the tiles additionally extends the time that you can enjoy the warmth at home.
The most important advantages of the system:
- It allows you to heat your home at low cost, using cheap tariffs (e.g. night-time). This makes it one of the cheapest and most economical solutions using infrared heating films.
- Used under the tiles (under the floor under the tiles) additionally enhances the cumulative effect providing longer heat dissipation.
- Wide application – it will work under any type of screed and does not interfere with any type of floor coverings.
- The most durable of the systems, it’s practically 100% resistant to damage.
- Ideally suited as the main heating system of the house.
- It eliminates that cold floor feeling.
However, there are also some downsides
- The delay in heating can reach 1-2 hours.
- It can only be installed during house construction phase or major renovation.
- It requires an individual project with a detailed calculation of energy parameters.
